Hashimoto’s Thyroiditis / Haşimato Tiroidi
Hashimoto’s thyroiditis is an autoimmune disease of the thyroid gland. In this condition, the body mistakenly attacks and destroys its own thyroid tissue. The disease typically leads to a reduction in thyroid function, causing hypothyroidism (low levels of thyroid hormones). Hashimoto’s thyroiditis is usually a chronic condition and can be managed with thyroid hormone medications throughout one’s life.
Hashimoto tiroiditi, tiroid bezinin otoimmün bir hastalığıdır. Bu durumda vücut yanlışlıkla kendi tiroid dokusuna saldırır ve onu yok eder. Hastalık tipik olarak tiroid fonksiyonlarında azalmaya yol açarak hipotiroidizme (düşük tiroid hormon seviyeleri) neden olur. Hashimoto tiroiditi genellikle kronik bir durumdur ve kişinin hayatı boyunca tiroid hormonu ilaçları ile yönetilebilir.
